GENEZIS College of Excellence

The GENEZIS Student College of Excellence ended the year in a good mood, already formulating plans for the future.

We said goodbye to our founding year, 2023, by discussing the topics of the research ahead of us, the experience gained so far, the resources available and the research methods.

At this time last year, it was just a dream to form a community of young people with the same interests and a desire to do research, however, since then, we have been forged into a creative team whose members support each other and are not afraid of challenges. The creation protection perspective comes naturally to all of us, while it is also a binding force motivating us to inspire and help rather than compete with each other.

A milestone and also the birthday of GENEZIS: on June 15, 2023, the University Council of PPCU adopted our founding statutes.

In the autumn of 2023, we participated in the nationwide series of events of the Night of Researchers with our biodiversity quiz 'A bear is not a toy'.

As the end of the year approached, we held a round-table discussion on the situation of the needy and those in socially vulnerable situations, and the possibilities of help, under the title First St. Martin's Day, where it became clear to those present how sustainability and climate protection are related to catching up with isolated regions. In addition to the presentations, we also received authentic student reports from members of the PPKE JÁK Caritas group.

In December, on the occasion of Hungary's consecutive EU presidency, we talked with young lawyers about what young people can do for climate protection, our country and Europe. In addition to climate protection and sustainability demands, a number of substantive and procedural issues were raised. The event was entitled 'Youth in Europe for our country and for climate protection'.

The members of the GENEZIS Student College of Excellence also contributed to the compilation of the Creation Protection Advent Calendar of the Institute for the Integrity of Creation. At the end of the year, we expressed our gratitude to God with a poem written by the student and GENEZIS member Anna Dóra Nagy – the poem is available below by clicking on the link between the pine leaves.

The GENEZIS Student College of Excellence wishes you a productive, happy and, most of all, peaceful new year!

Let's act together to protect the world we have created!
